Warm Nights is a Community Crisis Service Program that partners with the PG County Hypothermia Unit and local churches throughout Prince George’s County. It is a program that attempts to meet the needs of men, women and families that are experiencing homelessness. During the week of February 2 – 9, 2020, First Baptist Church of Camp Springs welcomed approximately 31 guests each night and served over 600 meals. In addition to providing a warm, safe, and clean place to sleep, each person received a hot meal each evening, a healthy breakfast, and a bag lunch for the day. Each guest also received kits with essentials and toiletries. During the week, special services such as showers, a trip to the laundromat, resume workshop, haircuts and seated massages were offered to the guests. Arch of Knowledge, Inc, joined local vendors, restaurants, churches, and individuals from the community to contribute and participate in this event.
TRUNK OR TREAT
Arch of Knowledge, Inc partnered with FBCCS and other local organizations on the afternoon of Sunday, October 27th to provide a safe environment for neighborhood children (and their families!) to come out for fellowship, candy, costumes, popcorn, hot apple cider, and pumpkin decorating! This event provides the residents the opportunity to meet or reconnect with their neighbors while fostering an important sense of safety and belonging in our kids. Participants were able to win great prizes for costumes and trunk decorations.
